Royal Refuse Recycling Instructions
- Plastic Containers like bottles, jugs and tubs only:
Preparation: Rinse and clean containers thoroughly, remove
and discard lids and sprayers. No need to remove labels.
NO PLASTIC OIL CONTAINERS OR BAGS, PLACE THESE IN THE TRASH.
ALL HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SHOULD NEVER BE PLACED IN RECYCLING CONTAINERS.
- Aluminum and Tin Cans:
Preparation: Rinse, clean and remove all food residue.
No need to remove paper labels.
NO SPRAY CANS, PAINT OR CHEMICALS. THESE ARE CONSIDERED
TRASH IF EMPTY.
- Office Paper, Newspapers and Magazines:

Preparation: All paper must be clean with no food residue.
This includes clean white computer, newspapers, magazines, catalogs and
junk mail.
NO WAXED PAPER, PLASTIC COATED BOXES, USED TISSUES, PAPER
TOWELS OR NAPKINS. PLACE THESE ITEMS IN THE TRASH.
- Cardboard:
Preparation: Please flatten corrugated cardboard, paper boxes.
IF YOU DON'T HAVE A COMMINGLE CONTAINER, PLACE ALL CARDBOARD
IN A CARDBOARD ONLY CONTAINER.
- Glass Bottles and Jars:
Preparation: Remove caps, and rinse clean glass. No need to
remove paper labels.
Place all glass in blue box.
- Hazardous / Toxic Materials:
Gasoline, oil/gas mixtures, liquid paint, petroleum products, pesticides,
herbicides, solvents, thinners are prohibited wastes and cannot be recycled
or thrown away in the garbage. Please call
Lane County
Waste Management for information on how to dispose of these items
through the Household Hazardous Waste program at 687.4120.
